When you order a bridal gown from Calèche Online, you can be entirely confident that you are not buying a standard-size ready-made "off-the rack" run-of-the-mill wedding dress.
Your Calèche Online Bridal Gown is hand-crafted IN AUSTRALIA
specifically for YOU and only for you. It is "Virtually Made-to-Measure", as close to a made-to-measure wedding dress as is possible in an online boutique.
Step 1
With the help of the Web Camera that is part of the Trousseau you receive when you place an order we ensure that all your measurements are as accurate as possible: they will be taken in front of the web camera under the supervision and guidance of one of our design consultants.
Step 2
When we have taken your measurements, the design team at Calèche will be asked to create a toile for you, what we are calling a 'CALECOLINE©' (pronounced "kalekoleene") - a mock-up of your gown, made of a fabric that has similar properties to the final garment, something that drapes well for flowing designs, something heavier for more structured ones.
Creating a "toile" is a standard process used by couture designers and it's a service exclusive to the Calèche Online Bridal Boutique.
Step 3
The Calecoline© will be sent to you when it's ready - at no additional cost to you - so that you can try it on, confirm that the dress will look good on you, and have it fitted, adjusted and pinned under the guidance of our design consultant, using the Web Camera, so that you can be confident that the final garment will be as close-fitting as possible, ready for any last-minute adjustments just before your wedding day.
Last-minute adjustments may not be necessary, but if they are, they should be made a qualified seamstress or by a reputable dry-cleaning firm near you - several dry-cleaners offer this type of service.
The Calecoline© has another purpose, however! If it should happen that the Calecoline© reveals that the gown does not really suit you when you try it on, you will be able to select another Calèche Online Gown, in consultation with our consultant.
Step 4
The Calecoline© must be returned the day after the fitting. When we receive it back, your gown will be individually hand-crafted in the Calèche studios in Adelaide from carefully selected fabrics in accordance with the measurements and pinnings of your Calecoline© to become your "Virtually Made-to-Measure" Wedding Dress.
